JOB SUMMARY:

Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the department across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI) health authorities (Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services and Vancouver Coastal Health). Performs interventional/angiography procedures and diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with departmental policy and procedure observing safe radiation protection practices. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, entering relevant data into the radiology information system, preparing examination trays and patients, following aseptic technique, for specific procedures, assists Radiologist in procedures, operating computerized imaging equipment including processing and archiving of acquired data, monitoring patient during procedures and monitoring equipment performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

Certification with the CAMRT. A minimum of two (2) years’ recent, related experience in interventional radiography or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for general radiology, angiography and interventional procedures.

Demonstrated knowledge of the standards of practice and guidelines for Medical Imaging practitioners established by the CAMRT and/or other relevant national professional associations.

Demonstrated knowledge of the aseptic techniques.





Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice related to designated modality.

Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for Interventional.

Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with medical imaging equipment.

Demonstrated skill in IR techniques and the use of applicable equipment.

Broad knowledge of PACS/radiology information systems, i.e. digital imaging, image archiving and retrieval.

Demonstrated knowledge of research process and methodology.

Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and in writing) and deal effectively with clients and their families, coworkers, physicians, other health care staff, and staff of external agencies.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.

Demonstrated ability to plan and establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.

Demonstrated ability in Intravenous Therapy.

Demonstrated ability in CPR techniques.

General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.

Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.

Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally protected care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and standards of care, including practice of safe work procedures with modality equipment.

Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate,



facilitate, coach and mentor staff.

Demonstrated ability to deal with and/or guide others in resolution of conflict issues.

Demonstrated ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated computer skills with current computer applications.
