DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Test Automation and Performance Testing Specialist for a long term contract opportunity with a leading Canadian healthcare organization. This is a senior level, hands on role focused on developing and enhancing automated testing frameworks, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and executing comprehensive performance and load testing initiatives.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with QA, Development, Architecture, and Business teams to ensure applications meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, scalability, and performance. This role is best suited to candidates who have built automation frameworks and led performance testing initiatives rather than those whose experience is primarily focused on test execution.

What you'll do

- Test Automation Development: Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript while promoting reusable and maintainable automation solutions.
- Automation Architecture: Establish automation best practices, framework standards, reusable components, and test design approaches to support long term quality objectives.
- API Testing & Automation: Develop and execute automated API testing solutions to validate integrations, business logic, and end to end workflows.
- Performance & Load Testing: Design and execute performance testing strategies using k6 and/or JMeter, including workload modelling, concurrent user testing, throughput measurement,



and response time analysis.
- Performance Analysis: Identify system bottlenecks, investigate performance issues, analyze test results, and provide recommendations for optimization.
- CI/CD Enablement: Integrate and maintain automated testing processes within GitLab, Bamboo, and other CI/CD platforms to support continuous quality initiatives.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and support to broader QA teams, including assisting manual testers and UAT activities where required.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Independently investigate and resolve automation and testing challenges while recommending practical solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with QA, Development, Architecture, Product, and Business stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Agile Delivery: Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to testing strategy, planning, estimation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

Experience

- 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
- Extensive hands on experience using Playwright with TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise test automation frameworks.
- Robust experience with API testing and automation.
- Proven experience conducting performance and load testing for enterprise applications.
- Experience supporting QA teams, manual testing efforts,



and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced expertise in Playwright and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of automation architecture, design patterns, framework maintainability, and reusable automation components.
- Hands on experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with GitLab and/or Bamboo.
- Strong API testing experience using REST services and modern testing tools.
- Experience with performance testing tools including k6 and/or JMeter.
- Strong understanding of workload modelling, concurrent user testing, response time analysis, throughput analysis, and performance optimization.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex testing and automation challenges.
