Role Description The Social Media Strategist role is a remote volunteer position responsible for shaping and executing AUVSI Maple Canada’s social media presence. This role includes developing and implementing social media strategies across platforms, planning content calendars, and optimizing posts for engagement and reach.

The Social Media

Strategist will collaborate with organizational leaders to highlight events, initiatives, and thought leadership, and will monitor analytics to refine campaigns. Day-to-day tasks may include drafting and scheduling posts,



coordinating with contributors, responding to community interactions, and supporting digital campaigns that promote autonomous systems innovation and public awareness.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to plan, execute, and refine multi-platform campaigns.
- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Public Relations skills to engage diverse stakeholders and represent the organization’s mission effectively.
- Candidates should possess skills in Content Strategy to design integrated content plans aligned with organizational goals and audience needs.
- Experience with basic analytics tools, social media management platforms, and performance tracking is beneficial.
- Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, AI, or emerging technologies is an asset.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a distributed team.
- Prior experience in community building, nonprofit or association work, or technology-focused initiatives is advantageous.
