About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and creative Sports Events Planner to manage and execute a variety of sporting events in and around Kimberley. This role is essential for ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of events that engage participants and spectators, from local tournaments to larger regional competitions. You will be responsible for all aspects of event planning, including logistics, budgeting, vendor management, marketing, and on-site execution.

This on-site role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating memorable sporting experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and execute a diverse portfolio of sports events from conception to completion.

Develop detailed event budgets, manage expenses, and ensure profitability or adherence to allocated funds.

Source and negotiate with vendors for services such as venue hire, catering, equipment, and entertainment.

Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, staffing, participant registration, and venue setup.

Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to drive attendance and participation.





Manage all on-site operations during events, ensuring smooth execution and resolving any issues that arise promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience in event planning, preferably with a focus on sports events.

Demonstrated ability in budget management, vendor negotiation, and logistical coordination.

Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.

Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules in Kimberley.
