Parkin Architects Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Architectural Technologist to join our architectural team. The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of architectural projects by preparing drawings, assisting with technical documentation, coordinating project information, and contributing to the production of construction documents.

This position is well suited to an emerging architectural professional looking to develop their technical skills and gain practical experience working within a collaborative architectural environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist architects and senior technologists with the development of architectural and technical drawings.

* Prepare and modify plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant BIM/CAD software.

* Assist with the preparation of construction documents, drawing sets, schedules, specifications, and project documentation.

* Interpret architectural designs and translate design concepts into accurate technical drawings.

* Assist with BIM modelling and maintain accurate project information within BIM models.

* Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other consultant drawings.

* Participate in design development and technical coordination meetings.

* Assist with site measurements, surveys, site visits, and documentation of existing conditions when required.

* Review drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.





* Assist with preparing revisions and incorporating comments from project architects, consultants, and clients.

* Research applicable building codes, standards, regulations, and construction requirements.

* Maintain organized project files, drawings, models, and documentation.

* Support project teams throughout the design, documentation, and construction phases.

* Perform other architectural and technical duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

* 1–3 years of experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction environment is an asset.

* Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

* Knowledge of BIM workflows and architectural documentation.

* Understanding of architectural construction methods, materials, and detailing.

* Familiarity with applicable Canadian building codes and standards is an asset.

* Robust attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.

* Good written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

* Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Skills

* Experience preparing construction documentation.

* Knowledge of Canadian building codes and accessibility requirements.

* Experience with Revit families, BIM coordination, and model management.

* Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar software.

* Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
