Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

to support the

Acute Care Unit 2B at Yarmouth Regional Hospital . This role is well-suited for LPNs seeking a travel nursing opportunity in a hospital environment, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. Hospital Overview

Yarmouth Regional Hospital is a leading healthcare facility in southwestern Nova Scotia.

The

Acute Care Unit 2B

serves

medical and post-surgical patients with varying levels of acuity .

Key Responsibilities

Provide patient care within the LPN

scope of practice

for individuals with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes.

Assist in nursing interventions

under RN supervision

when patient conditions become more complex or unpredictable.

Administer medications and support treatment plans as assigned.

Monitor patients, document assessments,



and ensure compliance with

NSHA policies .

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide

holistic and patient-centered care .

IV Initiation and Medication Administration

IV initiation and IV medication administration are now

entry-level competencies

in the LPN curriculum.

These skills are

not practiced in all units —LPNs must confirm approval with the

Charge Nurse

before performing these procedures.

Certain medications may be restricted to RN administration only.

Qualifications

Active LPN License in Nova Scotia

Minimum one year of recent experience in an acute care setting

Mandatory certification:

BLS

Solid clinical skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment

Experience with

medical, post-surgical, or high-acuity patient care

is an asset
