Focus Systems is seeking up to two experienced Senior Business Analysts to support healthcare interoperability and digital health initiatives.

- Location: Remote within Canada
- Travel: Remote resources may be required to travel to Saskatchewan as needed
- Contract Term: Until October 31, 2027
- Extension: Option for two (2) additional one-year terms

Role Overview

The Senior Business Analyst will lead and support business analysis activities across healthcare interoperability and digital health initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, business, technical, and vendor stakeholders to define and validate requirements, support solution design, analyze data exchanges and mappings, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex healthcare technology projects.

The role may support different initiatives as organizational priorities evolve.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead business analysis activities for healthcare interoperability and digital health initiatives
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements
- Analyze and document data mappings between source systems and target solutions
- Support healthcare interoperability work involving standards such as HL7 FHIR, where applicable
- Collaborate with business, clinical, technical, and vendor stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, working sessions, and requirements-gathering activities
- Analyze current- and future-state business processes and identify gaps and opportunities
- Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of integration, interoperability, data-exchange, and business-process issues




- Develop business process models, workflows, use cases, user stories, business rules, metrics, and KPIs
- Prepare documentation, presentations, reports, and briefings for different audiences, including senior leadership
- Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases
- Coordinate and support system, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Support quality assurance, implementation, deployment, and go-live activities
- Contribute to organizational change management activities
- Monitor risks, issues, dependencies, and project progress
- Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and project teams
- Build effective working relationships across multiple teams, programs, organizations, and external partners

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Business Analyst role within a healthcare setting
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working on data integration or interoperability projects

Preferred Experience & Assets

- Experience with healthcare interoperability standards and protocols, including HL7 v2 and HL7 FHIR
- Experience analyzing and documenting data mappings, workflows, and information exchanges between healthcare systems
- Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications for integrations, data exchanges, reporting, and process improvements
- Experience leading business analysis activities for healthcare interoperability, integration, or digital health initiatives
- Familiarity with one or more major Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Robust stakeholder communication and workshop-facilitation experience
- Experience working within large, complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience developing test strategies, test plans, and test cases and coordinating system, integration, and user acceptance testing
