Become a key player at Alpha House as an Indigenous Peer Support Worker, helping clients on their journey to recovery. This part-time position involves cultural programming and support.
In this role, you will engage with Indigenous clients, offering assistance in reconnecting with their heritage and community. You’ll work collaboratively to encourage participation in programs while helping clients with daily living activities. Your goal will be to create a supportive and safe environment throughout their recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Encourage clients to join Indigenous engagement programs
• Escort clients on cultural outings and activities
• Support personal hygiene and daily living tasks
• Foster a respectful and clean setting
• Help clients build rapport and trust
Requirements:
• High school diploma with preference for post-secondary education
• Peer Support training or certification an asset
• Skills in de-escalation and crisis management
• Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude
• Computer proficiency including MS Office
Support individuals facing addiction challenges with integrity at Alpha House.
