Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac Des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In operation for over 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, primarily used in catalytic converters to reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.The LDI Mine features a unique ore body and up-to-date infrastructure, including underground and surface mining operations and a mill. The mine is situated in the Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, on land traditionally belonging to the Anishnaabeg and Métis peoples. Impala Canada actively partners with local organizations and communities to support healthcare, education, and community development initiatives to enhance quality of life.Job Description:The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing development headings for advancement. This includes operating equipment such as Maclean Bolters and Jumbo drills, installing ground support, drilling safety bays, advancing services, mucking, and prepping faces.



Responsibilities also include loading and blasting development headings and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.All tasks must be performed following company procedures, government regulations, and manufacturer specifications.Qualifications:Applicants should have knowledge and skills in development mining, promote safety, and follow company procedures. Ability to work safely and productively, and to supervise less experienced employees, is essential. Candidates must understand and follow instructions, maintain good housekeeping, and deliver professional results.
