K&D; Contracting, an established road construction company, is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, with a focus on mobile forestry equipment. This role requires expertise in various mechanical systems, including electrical, and automotive repair, as well as experience with heavy equipment operation. The job involves in-town and camp work and is based at various locations on the North Island. The shop is currently located on the Gold River Hwy but will be moving to Barge Terminal location.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including haul trucks (including autonomous CAT trucks), loaders, graders, dozers, excavators, drills, rock trucks and highway trucks.Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of machinery.Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed,
