Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Property Accountant is a key member of the Accounting team and responsible for the full cycle accounting of a 31‑unit hotel and a 77‑unit long‑term accommodation in Revelstoke BC. The Property Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of the monthly financials and is the direct line of communication between Basecamp and the vacation rental owners.Salary: $60,000 per yearShifts: Full-time, Fixed term till June 2027. End date may be flexible depending on the length required for a period of maternity cover.Location: Calgary or Canmore ABKey ResponsibilitiesFull Cycle AccountingStandard: Responsibilities spanning the entire accounting cycle, from recording transactions to financial reporting.Maintain and reconcile the general ledger,



ensuring accuracy and completenessRecord all financial transactions including revenue and expensesPrepare journal entries and adjust accounts as neededReconcile bank accounts and credit card statementsEnsure payables are recorded and process paymentsEnsure revenue is being properly allocated between unitsReconcile inter-company transactions monthlyPrepare any accommodation related tax remittancesReporting and Owner RelationsStandard: Report financials monthly and communicate with owners, providing great customer service.Prepare monthly financial reports for 31 units, work closely with Controllers to finalize statementsBe in regular contact with owners and their accountants, sending the monthly reports each month by the 15thRespond to any questions or concerns owners may have regarding their financials, tax or general questions about their unitKeep a valuable rapport with owners, ensuring a positive owner experienceGeneral DutiesPrepare Year End FilesHelp with any AuditsOther duties as requestedRequirementsBe familiar with the operation and programming of the QuickBooks accounting system.Hold a business administration degree with accounting major or accountant of finance diploma.5 years or experience in related accounting field.Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.Basecamp Resorts and Everwild are an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to building a workplace that values diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all.
