Department: Human ResourcesReports To: Manager, People & CultureLocation: Scarborough, ON (Hybrid)Duration: 6–16 weeks (Full-Time)Period: June – August 2026Status: Canada Summer Jobs ContractPosition OverviewThe Human Resources Coordinator (Canada Summer Jobs) position offers a great opportunity for the candidate to gain hands‑on experience in core Human Resources functions within a dynamic, multi‑site organization within the nonprofit sector.As an Human Resources Coordinator, you will work closely with the People & Culture team to support initiatives that enhance employee experience and organizational effectiveness.Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment SupportAssist with posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.Help coordinate internship and seasonal hiring programs.Onboarding & OrientationPrepare onboarding materials and assist with new hire orientation sessions.Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with HR policies.HR AdministrationMaintain employee records in HRIS systems.Support payroll and benefits administration tasks as needed.Employee EngagementAssist in planning and executing employee engagement activities and events.Gather feedback and contribute ideas to improve workplace culture.Special ProjectsParticipate in HR projects such as policy updates, organizational effectiveness, and process improvements.Skills and QualificationsMust meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility (see below).Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or related field.Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially over the phone and email.Comfortable initiating contact with new people and representing an organization professionally and a willingness to learn.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
