TRIUMF’s Radiation Protection Group is seeking an enthusiastic student to enhance their radiation tracking quality. Key tasks include coding simulations, commissioning detectors, and analyzing experimental data to verify designed setups. This position offers valuable experience in programming and practical radiation systems, alongside opportunities for learning in student seminars.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement simulation geometries for assessment of shielding designs • Commission and install radiation detection systems • Analyze calibration test data utilizing ROOT • Fit mathematical models to experimental results • Submit comprehensive reports on research activities
Requirements: • Current enrollment in an appropriate degree program (Physics or Engineering) • Experience in programming languages, especially C/C++ • Interest in the field of nuclear or environmental physics • Basic electronics knowledge is a plus • No prior industry experience necessary
