Municipal Worker – Parks and Recreation Term Position

Up to two (2) month term with possibility of extension

Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Foreman, and working within a team setting, this full time term position (40 hours per week) is responsible for duties related to the Community Services Department including:
Arena facility operation, maintenance, and custodial duties
Park and greenspace maintenance
Public relations
Equipment operation, such as ice resurfacing equipment, grass cutting equipment, tractors, etc.
General municipal department support
Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will demonstrate most of the following skills/abilities:
Experience in the operation of a wide variety of equipment & vehicles.
Demonstrated people skills
Basic mechanical skills




Experience or aptitude for turf management, or horticulture
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Physical fitness, ability to lift 50lbs, extended periods of walking/standing

Other requirements:
Acceptable RCMP Security Clearance Check
Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Provide a current Driver’s Abstract as a condition of employment
This position requires availability for regular shift work including evenings and weekends.

Salary: $58,150 – $60,500 Open until suitable candidate found.
