Located in Richmond, BC, Lifetime Design is a custom metal fabrication shop building architectural metalwork for residential and commercial clients across Metro Vancouver.

We're a small, tight-knit shop — not a big-box manufacturing operation. Everyone here wears more than one hat, pitches in where it's needed, and works closely together to get the job done right. About the Role

We need someone who can take rough design intent and turn it into buildable shop drawings, then program those drawings into CNC-ready cuts. This is a design-first role — your drafting and problem-solving skills carry the work — and CNC programming is part of the job.

What You'll Do
Build shop and customer drawings from concepts, specs, and site measurements — for projects like gates, railings, fencing, and doors, among others
Program and set up CNC equipment for cutting and fabrication from your own drawings
Troubleshoot CNC programs during production and adjust drawings as needed




Work directly with the fabrication team to keep drawings buildable and on-spec

What You Need
3+ years in a CAD/drafting role with hands-on CNC programming experience — not one or the other
Fusion 360 proficiency required, including Fusion's integrated CAM workspace
Ability to write and troubleshoot G-code for a CNC router table (aluminum cutting)
Working knowledge of CNC setup, tool paths, and machining processes for metal fabrication
Background in architectural metalwork, custom fabrication, or a related trade

Pay

$30–$40/hour, based on experience and tenure.

Applications without both CAD and CNC experience will not be considered.

Hours: Full time, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm. Shop is closed on statutory holidays and over the Christmas break.

Work Location: In person (Richmond, BC)

Pay: $30.00-$38.63 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
