Controller

We are hiring a hands-on Controller to own the full accounting and financial operations of our business. This is not a review-and-delegate role; you will be directly managing day-to-day accounting, cash flow, and critical financial relationships in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly and cash is managed tightly.

What You'll Own
Monthly and year-end close, financial statement preparation, and balance sheet reconciliations
Cash-flow management: daily monitoring, short- and long-term forecasting, and payment scheduling in a constrained environment
Vendor and creditor management: prioritizing critical payments, negotiating terms, and maintaining relationships to protect operations
Government and agency liaison: direct communication with CRA and other agencies on remittances, filings, account issues, and payment arrangements (GST/HST, payroll)
Debt negotiation and payment arrangement support
Intercompany account reconciliation
Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Process and internal control improvements
Explicit, timely reporting to management on cash position, obligations, risks, and commitments

What You Bring
CPA designation required




Solid hands-on QuickBooks Online proficiency required
Deep experience in Canadian accounting practices and financial reporting
Proven ability to manage cash flow under financial constraints and assess competing priorities
Direct experience negotiating with creditors and vendors
Comfort dealing independently with government agencies and resolving account issues
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Exceptional written and spoken English; able to explain complex financial matters clearly to non-accounting stakeholders
High judgment, works well under pressure, meets tight deadlines, and takes full ownership

The Role

You are the financial operator who sees beyond the statements. You look at cash on hand, upcoming obligations, vendor needs, government commitments, and operational demands—and you know what to tackle first. You solve problems, communicate directly with creditors and agencies, and work alongside leadership to keep finances moving forward.

Pay: $67,900.18-$134,937.60 per year
