Job Description – Shift Supervisor

Summary:

· The Shift Supervisor will be expected to direct the activities of the pick line and its employees to complete production schedules safely and on a timely basis, while controlling costs, efficiency and quality.

Principal Duties:

· Supervise the daily operations of the pick line in the EREC (ECCO Recycling and Energy Centre) LCF and woodline

Supervise mobile equipment operators (3)

· Responsible for maintaining a full roster ensuring that all line positions are manned and operated.

· Organize and supervise the pick line staff, including but limited to:
Ensuring all employees are adhering to safety regulations and policies at all times
Scheduling appropriate number of staff for each shift
Supervising the line employees’ work quality, productivity and attendance
Training and mentoring employees on job duties

· Run control panels for EREC

· Responsible for ensuring that pick line and equipment are in good order.

· Responsible for implementing all new procedures and processes required and implemented by management in relation to line operations

· Involved with decisions and/or recommendations regarding hiring, discipline, and terminations





· Comply with applicable legislation including protected operation around large machinery and occupational health and safety

· Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances

Work Environment:

· Required to access plant control center by three flights of stairs, and to access and traverse plant via catwalks and on the working and processing floors

· Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, much of the work day

· Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment such as safety goggles, hard hat, mask, hearing protection etc.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

· 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing supervisory/management role

· Robust written and verbal communications skills to be able to effectively communicate to employees, management, and support staff

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Experience:
