Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting our veterinary staff. This position requires a passion for animal welfare, robust communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining accurate records.
Monitor and care for animals pre- and post-surgery or treatment.
Administer medications as directed by veterinarians.
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ health and treatment plans.
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
Assist with the training of current staff members or interns.

Requirements




Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately with pet owners and team members.
Ability to handle animals safely and effectively, including restraint techniques when necessary.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if required.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.

Pay: $18.25-$21.00 per hour

Experience:
Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
Veterinary Assistant Certificate (preferred)
