Position Summary

The Thread Cop is responsible for inspecting, cleaning, protecting, and managing the integrity of threaded pipe connections used in oilfield operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency by ensuring all tubular components meet company and client specifications before use or transport. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and familiar with oilfield service environments.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect and verify the condition of pipe threads (both internal and external) for damage, corrosion, or debris.
Clean, re-dope, and cap/plug threads using approved materials and procedures.
Apply and remove thread protectors as required for storage, handling, or transport.
Identify and tag defective pipe or equipment, reporting non-conformities to the Shop Foreman or Quality Control.
Maintain accurate records of inspection and cleaning activities.
Operate tools and equipment safely, including thread cleaners, pressure washers, and material-handling devices.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures,



and hazard identification processes.
Assist with yard organization, loadouts, and general maintenance of work areas.
Communicate effectively with the operations and logistics teams to ensure workflow efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in a thread cleaning or pipe inspection role is an asset.
Knowledge of API thread types and oilfield tubulars preferred.
Ability to safely handle heavy materials and operate in industrial environments.
Solid attention to detail and quality assurance mindset.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 an asset).
Must be willing to comply with company drug and alcohol policy and pre-employment testing.

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
