About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and diligent Child Protection Officer to join their organization in Kimberley . This vital role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of children by implementing and overseeing child protection policies and procedures. You will work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, and families to identify risks, provide support, and respond to concerns related to child welfare. This hybrid position requires a balance of on-site fieldwork and remote administrative duties, making a significant impact on vulnerable children in the Northern Cape .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and review child protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and investigations related to child welfare concerns.
- Provide support and guidance to staff, families, and children on child protection matters.
- Liaise with relevant external agencies, including social services and law enforcement.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all child protection activities.
- Deliver training sessions on child protection best practices to staff and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Law, or a related field.
- Significant experience in child protection, safeguarding, or social work.
- In-depth knowledge of child welfare legislation and protocols.
- Excellent investigative, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, both remotely and in the field.
