Potentia Human Resources is proud to be leading the search for a creative, strategic and passionate Community Impact & Communications Strategistfor the Central Okanagan Foundation. This is an in-person, in office role, working with a small team of fantastic values based humans who are dedicated toconnecting people who care with causes that matter, helping build strongercommunities through philanthropy, granting, scholarships, and communityleadership. As one of Canada's community foundations, the COF works alongsidedonors, charities, businesses, governments, and community partners to invest ininitiatives that create lasting impact across the Central Okanagan since 1979.

This newlycreated role offers a rare opportunity to build the COF's communicationsstrategy from the ground up, modernize its brand, strengthen donor engagement,and share the inspiring stories of the people and organizations making adifference throughout our community.

What You'll Be Doing:

As theCOF’s first dedicated Community Impact & Communications Strategist, you'll havethe unique opportunity to build their communications strategy from the groundup while helping modernize the COF's brand and strengthen community engagement.

Reportingto the Manager, Community Impact & Philanthropy, you'll develop compellingcampaigns that inspire giving, celebrate community impact, increase awareness,and support fundraising initiatives. From storytelling and digital marketing tobrand development, media relations, and events, you'll play a central role inshaping how the COF connects with their community.

TheCOF is looking for someone who thinks beyond creating attractive marketingmaterials. They want someone who understands that great marketing inspiresaction, builds relationships, and delivers measurable results.

You'llhave the opportunity to:





- Develop andimplement the COF's annual communications and marketing strategy
- Strengthen andmodernize the COF's brand across all platforms
- Createcompelling stories highlighting donor impact, charities, scholarships, andcommunity initiatives
- Write engagingcontent for newsletters, annual reports, website, blogs, donorcommunications, speeches, and media releases
- Manage and growthe COF's website and digital presence
- Plan andexecute social media and digital marketing campaigns
- Develop emailmarketing campaigns and donor communications
- Designbrochures, reports, presentations, advertisements, and promotionalmaterials
- Producephotography, video, and visual storytelling content for events andcampaigns
- Buildrelationships with local media and coordinate public relationsopportunities
- Supportfundraising initiatives including Giving Tuesday, year-end campaigns, anddonor stewardship
- Coordinatemarketing for COF events and community initiatives
- Monitormarketing analytics and campaign performance to drive continuousimprovement
- Maintaineditorial calendars, digital assets, and brand standards
- Collaborateclosely with leadership, philanthropy, grants, and community partners tocommunicate the COF's impact

Requirements

Youare a creative professional who enjoys balancing big-picture strategy withday-to-day execution.

What You Will Bring:

- Diploma orDegree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, GraphicDesign, Digital Media, Business Communications, or a related field(equivalent experience will also be considered)
- 3-5 years ofcommunications and marketing experience
- Exceptionalwriting, editing, and storytelling abilities
- Strong graphicdesign skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop,Illustrator)
- Experiencemanaging websites, social media, and digital marketing campaigns
- Knowledge ofWordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Experience withemail marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
- Familiaritywith Canva, Google Analytics, SEO,



and marketing analytics
- Strongorganizational and project management skills
- Ability tomanage multiple projects and competing priorities
- Confidenceworking independently while collaborating with a supportive team
- A portfolioshowcasing your writing, design, and marketing work
- Non-profit orcharitable sector experience
- Photography andvideography experience
- Experience withAI-assisted marketing tools
- CRM experiencesuch as Foundant or similar platforms
