A national law firm is seeking an experienced business development leader to drive its growth strategy across Canada.

Reporting to a member of the executive leadership team, the Director will focus on revenue growth, strategic markets, client development, and team leadership. This hands-on role requires strategic thinking, executive presence, and a strong understanding of relationship-based business development.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement the firm’s national business development strategy
- Identify market trends, growth opportunities, and priority sectors
- Work with partners and practice group leaders to strengthen client relationships and identify cross-practice opportunities
- Lead proposals, pitches, and presentations for key clients and prospective business
- Monitor performance metrics and provide strategic market intelligence
- Represent the firm at industry and networking events




- Lead, mentor, and support the business development team
- Establish effective processes that deliver measurable results

Requirements

- At least ten years of business development experience, preferably in legal or qualified services
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA considered an asset
- Proven success in revenue growth and senior-level client development
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Strategic, analytical, and results-oriented mindset
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
