Salary
Classification 14, $55,702.59 - $57,425.35, as per BCGEU Support Collective Agreement.
We offer 119 hours of paid vacation time, pro-rated and front-loaded, based on FTE, as well as time off paid between the Christmas and Recent Year's Day period.

Description
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Health Sciences, Human Services and Quality Assurance, the Educational Technology Specialist supports effective teaching and learning by helping faculty members, sessional instructors, and staff select, use, and improve educational technologies at Northern Lights College. The specialist provides pedagogical and technical guidance, contributes to cross-functional teams, and participates in communities of practice that advance consistent, accessible, technology-enabled learning.
The Specialist Responds Promptly And Accurately To Faculty, Instructor, And Staff Inquiries And Provides Guidance On The Pedagogical And Technical Use Of The Following College-supported Tools
- Northern Lights College's learning management system, D2L Brightspace
- Web-conferencing platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Media development and authoring tools
- Other digital learning tools supported by Northern Lights College
Qualifications The successful candidate must be able to work independently, build and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships, and contribute actively as a supportive team member.
In Addition,
You Will Also Bring The Following Qualifications
- A diploma in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Education, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 2 years' experience in instructional design, educational technology support, e-learning or related field, preferably in an education setting.
- Knowledge of learning theories and educational technologies.
- Knowledge of instructional and course design.
- Experience and expertise with a variety of multimedia authoring applications, Learning Management Systems, and education technology tools.
- The ability to demonstrate a significant understanding of the principles of adult and technology mediated pedagogy.
Preference will be given to those candidates who also have the following skills:
- A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Education, or related field;
- Post-secondary teaching experience
