Working in a class 100,000 cleanroom environment and reporting to the Production Supervisor, the assembler performs the tasks necessary to assemble, disassemble, repair, adjust, solder, unsolder, and verify prefabricated items and electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, electrical, and electro-optical cards.

Responsibilities

- Assembles, disassembles, repairs, adjusts, and verifies mechanical and optical assemblies based on instruction manuals, parts lists, and mechanical and/or optical assembly diagrams
- Uses various tools and jigs for mechanical assembly
- Prepares, cleans, and installs optical parts in metal and/or plastic housings
- Retouches the paint on metal housings prior to final inspection

Requirements and Skills:
- DEC or DEP in electronics, mechanics or equivalent, or a technical diploma from a recognized school in an appropriate discipline
- Read, interpret, or follow information from drawings, sketches, charts, tables, ranges, procedures, schedules, or any other document to perform the required work
- Knowledge of reading mechanical and/or electronic blueprints
- Good skills and manual dexterity
- Excellent visual acuity and good hand-eye coordination
- Wide-ranging knowledge in the use of different tools
- Meticulousness and precision for assembling delicate parts
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of French and English (written and spoken)
- Knowledge of IPC 610 standards is an asset

This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact with, support, and/or provide services to international clients, employees, and/or partners as well as foreign government authorities who do not speak French.
