Ye Olde Squire is looking for an experienced and dependable Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our kitchen team.

We’re a small, locally owned pub with a team that feels like family and regulars we absolutely adore. At the Squire, we take pride in serving fresh, made-from-scratch food in a quick-paced and team-focused environment.

As the Assistant Kitchen Manager, you’ll work closely alongside the Head Chef, assisting with daily kitchen operations, supporting the team during service, and helping maintain the quality and consistency our guests expect. This position requires someone who is organized, motivated, and comfortable taking initiative in a busy kitchen.

Shifts include a mix of days, evenings, and weekends, and we are closed most holidays.

Responsibilities
Work closely with the Head Chef to assist with all kitchen responsibilities
Support daily prep, line execution, and overall kitchen organization
Prepare and cook menu items to company standards
Ensure consistency in food quality,



presentation, and plating
Help maintain a clean, secure, and organized kitchen
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Assist with inventory, prep management, and kitchen flow during service
Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and production standards

Requirements
Minimum 5 years kitchen experience
Previous experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Adaptable availability including days, evenings, and weekends
Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler, or equivalent certification considered an asset

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
