Position Overview:

As an Accounting Assistant, you will primarily support accounts payable and reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions. You will report directly to the Accountant. This is a contract position with the potential for full-time conversion based on performance.

Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable transactions including verifying, coding, and entering invoices
Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Support accurate record-keeping and maintain financial files and documentation
Assist in preparing reports and summaries as needed
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
Deposit cash and cheques collected, and keep track of the deposits




Support the Accountant and Director of Finance with other accounting-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance support role
Strong understanding of accounts payable and general accounting principles
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Robust communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software are required.
Knowledge of and passion for humanitarian and charitable work is an asset.

Working Conditions:
Full-time contract, hybrid role
Temp-to-hire with potential to convert to a permanent position based on performance and organizational needs.
