Our client, an established law firm in Montreal, is creating a new position at the intersection of technology support, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
This individual will become the firm’s primary internal IT resource, working in collaboration with an external IT provider that will remain responsible for help desk services. The role therefore extends beyond day-to-day technical support: the successful candidate will actively identify, evaluate, and implement technology and AI solutions designed to improve the way the firm works.
This is an ideal opportunity for a curious, autonomous, and solutions-oriented professional who wants to move beyond reactive support and lead small-scale innovation projects that have a tangible impact on the day-to-day work of the firm’s teams.
The Role
The position encompasses two complementary areas of responsibility.
Internal Technology Support
- Offrir un soutien technique de niveaux 1 et 2 aux membres du cabinet;
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to members of the firm;
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365, workstations, peripherals, and technology tools;
- Prepare and configure workstations, devices, and software;
- Coordinate technology requirements related to employee onboarding, integration, and departures;
- Manage IT equipment inventory and participate in hardware renewal initiatives;
- Document procedures, configurations, and solutions to recurring issues;
- Collaborate with the external IT provider and follow up on requests requiring its involvement;
- Educate users on cybersecurity and information protection best practices.
Innovation and Artificial Intelligence
- Stay current on emerging technologies and practical applications of artificial intelligence in the workplace;
- Identify internal processes that could be simplified, automated, or improved through technology;
- Independently lead small-scale innovation and AI projects, from needs assessment through implementation;
- Evaluate and test new tools and provide clear recommendations based on their value, risks, and ease of adoption;
- Participate in the implementation and optimization of tools such as Microsoft Copilot;

- Support lawyers and staff in adopting new tools and ways of working;
- Develop practical guides and deliver short training sessions tailored to users’ needs;
- Promote the responsible, secure, and effective use of artificial intelligence tools;
- Contribute to building an internal culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education in information technology, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
- Relevant experience providing Level 1 and Level 2 technical support;
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and identity, access, and permissions management;
- Comfortable configuring and troubleshooting workstations, peripherals, and IT equipment;
- Strong interest in artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies;
- Ability to structure and independently manage small-scale projects;
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support users with varying levels of technological proficiency;
- Excellent client service skills, patience, and a collaborative approach;
- Curiosity, resourcefulness,
and a willingness to experiment;
- Sound judgment, discretion, and a solid awareness of information confidentiality;
- Ability to communicate professionally in both French and English.
Experience in a law firm or another professional services environment is considered an asset but is not required. Above all, the firm is interested in meeting individuals who can understand users’ needs, earn their trust, and turn technological opportunities into practical solutions.
What Will Set You Apart
You enjoy solving technical problems but do not want your role to be limited to managing support tickets. You are interested in the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence and are capable of turning an idea into a practical pilot project.
You know how to ask the right questions, experiment thoughtfully, and support change through clear guidance and education. You are also comfortable working in an environment where confidentiality, reliability, and service quality are essential.

- A balanced mandate combining technology support, innovation, and artificial intelligence;
- The opportunity to lead projects that have a direct impact on how people work;
