POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: IT Technical Associate
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Information Technologies Coordinator
Note: The following is not intended to be all-inclusive. This will prepare the individual for potential future positions as the business needs require and the individual demonstrates their contribution and potential.
Your position is responsible for providing professional and dependable service and develop our Team’s capability to deliver JEC’s key objectives to all our customers and suppliers. You will have a complete understanding of all customer/supplier requirements.
Your understanding of JEC’s Business Management System Manual, the associated BMS policies, processes, and their interaction is imperative. A commitment to JEC’s philosophy of Safety, Morale, Quality, Cost, Delivery & Environment is a requirement.
This role will be measured against specific targets as noted in the departmental business plan.
SUMMARY
Responsible for maintenance of the facilities IT Systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: Each associate will be required to focus primarily on one of two assigned internal support roles defined below.
Automation Systems Support:
- Completion of preventative maintenances (PM) as scheduled
- Review PM’s for correct equipment and pass forward any finding to Team Leader/Coordinator
- Completion of assigned DM activity in plant that may include modifying processes, custom fabrications, testing and evaluating current and new processes for improvements, PLC programming, Robot programming, HMI programming
- Train associates on basic maintenance skills and tools, OPM activities and equipment operation
- Provide training for Production Team Leaders on any improvements that are made to the process so that they can train Production Associates on all changes
- Be a part of new equipment installations
- Complete communication documentation as well as updating any documentation that need to be change due to an improvement in process; This includes CAD drawings, line layouts, and SOP’s
- Lead and execute projects involving Industrial control systems, OPC Servers, PLCs, HMIs and other devices.
- Other duties may be assigned
Information Systems support:
- Provide user support and administrate security.
- Lead and execute projects for our E.R.P. system.
- Responsible for user and desktop support as well as hardware repair
- Identify, troubleshoot and repair network issues and install network components
- Configure and troubleshoot IT related hardware and software; including peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, switches and mobile computing devices
- Administer active directory and server management
- Lead and execute projects involving SQL and other programming languages
- Lead and execute projects for our E.R.P. system.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education in Information Technologies, Industrial Automation or Engineering Technology desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Practical experience working with PLC programming, controls and instrumentation, fall arrest equipment is an asset.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software; Ladder logic, Windows, Office suite, project management and Anti-Virus Software.
