Delta

Delta School District seeks a dedicated Visual Language Interpreter to provide exceptional support to deaf and hard of hearing students through interpretation of American Sign Language. Work collaboratively in schools to enhance education. This continuing itinerant position involves working closely with classroom teachers and the I.E.P. to accommodate individual student needs.

You'll be responsible for delivering communication support in diverse educational scenarios, contributing to the overall learning experience for all students. Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret during classroom lessons and various school activities
- Directly supervise and mentor students for engagement
- Participate actively in the I.E.P. process
- Keep up with evolving interpreting technologies
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student data Requirements:
- Two-year post-secondary Visual Language Interpretation program
- At least four years of interpreting experience
- Proficient in ASL Level 8
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Solid knowledge of Deaf culture Empower students to excel in their learning journey with Delta School District's diverse educational community.
