Half-time Educational Assistant (3 hours per day)

Position Summary An chance exists for an Educational Assistant to join the Alexandra Middle School team. This includes supporting students with diverse and complex learning needs and providing positive behaviour supports in an inclusive classroom setting.

Skills & Requirements

- Experience working with students with diverse and complex needs would be an asset
- Experience with supporting developing numeracy skills would be an asset
- Support with in class and small group supports to help students access learning
- Support students with positive behaviour, development of self-regulation strategies and inclusive practices
- Excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills with students and adults
- Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher & school team
- Implement strategies and recommendations effectively as outlined in Individual Support and Behaviour Support Plans




- Ability to work in a flexible learning environment
- Ability to adapt quickly for classroom or student needs
- Supervision duties (recess, classroom, lunch, etc.)

Qualifications

- Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience working with students in school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work with children with varied skill level, needs and abilities
