Newbridge Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Mandarin Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year.

We are a small, bilingual independent school in South Surrey committed to providing students with a warm, supportive learning environment and meaningful language instruction. Our small class sizes allow teachers to build solid relationships with students and create highly interactive lessons.

Position Details

Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 1:50 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.

Hours: 3 hours per week

Compensation: $30-35/hour

Start Date: September 2026

Responsibilities

Teach two 90-minute Mandarin classes Tuesday and Thursday to students in Grades 8-9.

Classes may include combined grade groupings depending on enrolment.

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that foster confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying language abilities.





Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to support student learning.

Qualifications

Fluency in Mandarin and strong English communication skills.

Experience working with both native Mandarin speakers and Mandarin as a Second Language learners is considered a strong asset.

A creative, energetic, and student-centred approach to teaching.

Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Eligibility to work in Canada.
