Position Overview:
We are currently recruiting recent graduates from accounting or commerce programs to join our Property Management division as Accounting Associates. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial real estate accounting while working closely with our experienced team members. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Associate will be part of a structured career program designed to cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary to advance within the organization.Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as approving accounts payable, bank reconciliations, HST filing, expense tracking and tenant billing.Banking for bill payments and special deposit requests.Collaborate with Property Management and Leasing Teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries andAssist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports,
and budgets for various properties within our portfolio.Paper filing and boxing documents.Document and maintain of department Accounting ProceduresCareer Progression:
The Accounting Associate position serves as the first step in our career advancement program. Successful candidates will have the chance to progress to Senior Associate role and ultimately become a Property Accountant;
a respected professional in the field of commercial real estate accounting, within three years.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field from an accreditedStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention toProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other OfficeExcellent communication and interpersonalAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Prior experience in accounting or commercial real estate is not required but considered an asset.Benefits:
