Job Responsibility:
Salary : $37.50 - $40.50 per hour.
Position purpose: Reporting to the Manager, this position is responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical devices and heating, aeration, air conditioning and their auxiliary systems in facilities across campus in order to achieve optimum life span of equipment.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Perform physical inspections of building service rooms and areas both interior and exterior
Verify daily environmental controls and ensures readings are within accepted standards.
Perform periodic and seasonal preventive maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
Perform mechanical maintenance such as filter and belt changing, greasing, etc.
What you will bring:
Valid Third Class Operating Engineer license issued by TSSA
Experience in operating and maintaining building systems
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations
Robust work ethics with capability to work independently or work together as part of a team
Sound knowledge of safety procedures
Positive analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
Working knowledge of building HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical and mechanical equipment controls and systems
Ability to strictly comply with the Technical Standards and Safety Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations, as well as relevant University policies
Ability to work in confined spaces, on a ladder or scaffold at various heights- Bending and Lifting Required; Lifting under 30 kg
Bilingualism French and English (asset)
