Chief Operating Officer AFFORDABLE HOUSING SOCIETIESSurrey, BC AHS is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide strong operationalleadership and ensure the effective execution of the organization’s strategicpriorities. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will translateorganizational direction into day-to-day performance, strengthening service deliveryand driving operational effectiveness across the organization. Working closely withleaders and operational teams, the COO will bring greater operational rigour toAHS, strengthening systems, processes, accountability and collaboration whilefostering a consistent, tenant-centred approach and a culture of continuousimprovement. The successful candidate will be an authentic and cooperative operational leaderwith experience overseeing complex, multi-functional environments and translatingstrategy into effective execution. They will bring strong business and financialacumen, sound judgment and an enterprise mindset,



with the ability to assess howorganizational structures, systems and processes can best support effectiveoperations. An emotionally intelligent and empathetic leader, they will be aneffective team builder and delegator who develops leadership capacity, empowersothers and creates clear accountability. The successful candidate will also bringdemonstrated change leadership and the technical literacy to recognize andleverage technology that can improve operations, service delivery andorganizational performance. Experience in affordable housing, residential propertymanagement, real estate, facilities, seniors’ housing or another asset-intensive andservice-oriented environment would be an asset.
