NSB Omega is searching for a Project Manager - Civil/Structural for our Utilities Client in St. John's, NL.

Assignment Description

Key Responsibilities

- Leadprojectsfrominitiationtocompletion,ensuringprojectsaredeliveredsafely,on time, and within budget;

- Developandmanageprojectscopes,schedules,andbudgets,includingregular reporting to NL Hydro leadership;

- Coordinatewithengineeringteamstoensureengineeringdesigns,specifications,and deliverables meet corporate standards and applicable codes.

- Overseeandreviewtenderpackages,participateincontractevaluationandaward processes, ensuring quality and value for NL Hydro;

- Manageprojectteams,includinginternalengineers,contractors,andconsultants,to achieve project objectives;

- Conductregularsitevisitstomonitorconstructionactivities,verifyprojectprogress,and provide support to site teams;

- Identify,evaluate,andmitigateprojectrisks,andmaintaintheprojectriskregister throughout the project lifecycle;

- Facilitateeffectivecommunicationacrossstakeholders,ensuringthatapprovedproject changes are reflected in the active budget and schedule;

- Reviewandapprovetechnicaldocumentation,includingcommissioningproceduresand designs.

- EnsurecontractorcompliancewithNLHydro'sContractorSafetyManagementPlanand corporate and Contractor HSE policies;

- Supportthedevelopmentoftechnical specifications.

- Leadprojectcloseoutactivities,ensuringsmoothtransitionofcompletedassetsto operations;





- Promotecontinualimprovementthroughlessonslearned,innovativeapproaches,and sharing best practices with other project teams;

- SubmittimesheetsanddocumentationinaccordancewithNLHydro'sproject management requirements;

- Otherdutiesas assigned.

Education & Experience Required

- EngineeringDegreeinengineeringregisteredwiththeProfessionalEngineersand Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) association;

- Registered as a professional engineer (P. Eng) with the Qualified Engineers and GeoscientistsofNewfoundlandandLabrador(PEGNL)association(orotherCanadian engineering association);

- Minimumof10yearsofprogressiveprojectmanagementand/orengineeringexperience in Civil/Structural Projects;

- Experienceleadingprojectriskidentificationsand mitigations

- Experiencewithonsiteprojectmonitoringatremote locations

- Experienceindesign,managingconstructioncontractsand commissioning;

- Provenanddemonstratedcommunication skills;

- Abilitytothriveasaparticipantand/orleaderwithinamulti-disciplineteamofbothinternal and external resources;

- Strongexperienceinprojectcontrols,planning,scheduling,andestimatingis considered an asset;

- Strongbackgroundincoordinatingandmanagingmultidisciplinaryprojectteams(e.g., electrical, civil, mechanical) and collaborating with design and construction groups;

- Demonstratedabilitytomanageprojectsonoperationalindustrialsites,including contractor supervision and adherence to site-specific safety requirements;
