About the Opportunity

Our client, GT Painting, is a well-established and highly respected commercial and residential painting contractor with a strong reputation for delivering quality work, exceptional customer service, and long-term client relationships across Atlantic Canada. Having built a successful business with an entrepreneurial mindset, the company is entering its next phase of growth. With an established operation in Nova Scotia and a recently expanded presence in New Brunswick, they are looking to add a Project Manager to their team.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee commercial painting projects from start to finish. You'll be the key point of contact between clients, crews, and subcontractors, keeping projects on schedule, on budget, and up to GT Painting's quality standards. As we add offices and take on bigger projects, we want to grow our own people into bigger roles right alongside the company. No painting or construction background? No problem. We're more interested in the fundamentals: someone who's organized, communicates well, and can keep a project and the people on it moving forward. If you've got solid project management skills from any industry, we'll teach you the trade-specific know-how.

Compensation & Benefits

$75,000 - $80,000, plus company vehicle and phone allowance.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, schedule, and oversee commercial painting projects from bid to completion
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring explicit communication throughout each project
- Coordinate crews, subcontractors,



and material deliveries to keep jobs on track
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality control
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work meets specifications and safety standards
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including estimates, change orders, and progress reports
- Identify and resolve issues that arise during projects to minimize delays
- Support business development by maintaining strong client relationships and identifying repeat/referral opportunities

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proven project manager who thrives on keeping people, schedules, and budgets aligned, and who takes pride in delivering quality work on time. You may come from painting, construction, or another project-driven industry — what matters most is how you manage projects and people, not the specific trade background. The successful candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable being the main point of contact between clients, crews, and subcontractors. They bring strong follow-through, clear communication, and a genuine sense of ownership over the projects they run. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience managing projects, people, or client relationships in any industry; painting/construction experience is a plus but not required.
- Comfort using project management software to track schedules, budgets, and job progress.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and field crews.
- Comfort working independently and managing multiple projects at once.
- A hands-on, hard-working attitude and genuine care about doing quality work.
- Willingness to learn the trade-specific side of the business (blueprints, specs, budgets) on the job.
