Overview President, TMG Search Canada | Executive Search | Talent Advisory | Leadership Recruiting. TMG Search Canada has been retained by our client to fill the position of Controller.
The Controller will oversee all financial operations within a agile manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across the organization’s accounting and reporting functions. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational excellence by providing financial insight, driving cost control, and partnering closely with production, supply chain, and executive leadership, to achieve business objectives.
Responsibilities Lead all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls to support the operations.
Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, including product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Partner with operations and supply chain leaders to monitor production costs, optimize margins, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports.
Oversee compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.




Implement and enhance systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and visibility of financial data.
Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership and contribute to business planning and operational decision-making.
Lead and provide ongoing learning and development opportunities for the accounting team.
Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience with at least 3–5 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems.
Proven leadership ability and experience developing team members.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
