EY Indigenous Assurance Summer Internship is an exciting opportunity for students who self-identify as Indigenous looking to explore a potential career with EY Assurance practice.

We are committed to a path of reconciliation and to continue to magnify the voice of Indigenous people both nationally and globally.

Our Assurance group is one of the most trusted, respected, and influential organizations in the industry. Groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines) within Assurance include External Audit, Climate Change and Sustainability Services, Technology Risk, Financial Accounting Advisory Services and Forensic & Integrity Services. We work collaboratively with some of the top executives in the largest companies in the world, helping them create and realize the best solutions for the future of their companies.

As an intern, you'll gain hands‑on experience, build professional skills, and work alongside experienced teams while developing your network across EY. Your key responsibilities

Key responsibilities in our Assurance practice are to recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from basic analysis of a clients’ financial statements. After training, we expect our employees to clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives, client’s engagement history, and planned audit approach.



While completing day to day tasks we hope that all employees will challenge procedures used in the past and attempt to enhance audit techniques from year to year. Our people will also assist with the development of others through teamwork, integrity, and leadership.

Ideally, you’ll also:

Be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting
Be on track to complete all prerequisite courses and requirements to begin the CPA PEP program upon graduation, if joining the External Audit group.
Have advanced written and verbal communication skills
Possess strong dedication to teamwork
Be committed to integrity within a professional environment
Quebec based roles involve interaction with clients operating nationally and globally where fluency in French and English is required. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

Toronto: $59,000 to $68,000
London: $52,000 to $60,000
Ottawa: $50,000 to $59,000
Waterloo: $56,000 to $65,000
