Supervisor-First Nation Representatives
Wiikwemkoong Child and Family Services is seeking qualified individual to fill the positions of Supervisor – First Nation Representatives Services. Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory (WUT) Child and Family Services oversees and advocates for child and family matters by following the principals and ethics of Wiikwemkoong’s Gchi Naaknigewin, Wiikwemkoong’s Children’s Bill of Rights and Wiikwemkoong Community Standards. This will ensure the services are culturally appropriate to support the community’s children and families in alignment with Anishnaabe values and practices. The Supervisor – First Nation Representatives Services will report directly to the Child and Family Services Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise, coach, and mentor First Nation Representatives and support staff; conduct regular supervision, performance reviews, and support professional development.
Ensure staff adherence to First Nation Representative Services policies and procedures, WUT Child and Family Services standards, legislation, and Ontario Family Court Rules.
Monitor caseloads, documentation quality, and practice standards; provide direction on high‑risk, urgent, and complex cases.
Oversee preparation of court materials, support staff participation in legal proceedings, and coordinate with Legal Counsel to ensure accurate and culturally appropriate representation.
Ensure supervision and decision‑making reflect Anishinaabe values, culturally grounded approaches,



and community‑centered, family‑led planning.
Support onboarding and training, oversee use of case management systems, and contribute to program reporting, planning, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) or related Human Services field (MSW preferred).
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in child and family services, child welfare, or related social service roles.
Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practices.
Experience working with First Nations communities and understanding of Anishinaabe culture, values, and family systems.
In‑depth understanding of child welfare legislation, Family Court Rules, and Indigenous child welfare reform initiatives.
Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and agencies.
Demonstrated cultural humility and respect for Anishinaabe governance and community processes.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and family‑centered practice.
Ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and uphold qualified boundaries.
Knowledge of Caseworks software program.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Clear criminal reference and vulnerable sector check.
Salary: $93,897.00 Grade 9, Step 1
