Position Overview: The City of Prince Albert is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to fill the permanent, full time position of Concession Manager.
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all concession operations that serve multiple City Recreation facilities. The Concession Manager will schedule, train, and supervise the work of concession staff while ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient operations. Concession services support a variety of events, including Raider games, tournaments, and other community functions held at City facilities.
Major Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Key Customer Service Duties Operate the various Concessions including implementation of special promotions.
Purchase merchandise for resale and maintain inventory control.
Schedule, supervise and train Concession Workers.
Manage cash and cash floats.
Invoice, collect, account for and deposit cash receipts.
Recommend and administer budgetary provisions and report as required.
Recommend policy changes.
Prepare invoices for payment.
Assist in the hiring of concession staff.
Perform building supervision responsibilities, as required.
2. General Duties: Attend to all inquiries through personal, telephone, and written communication
Follow acts, regulations, bylaws, agreements, policies and procedures.
Follow and enforce regulations, acts and policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Grade 12
Food Technology diploma
Food Safe Level I (Public Health)
certification
Valid ServeIt Right Saskatchewan certification
Minimum five (5) years related managerial experience
Valid driver's license
Key Knowledge, Technical Skills and Abilities: Ability to plan, organize and supervise the activities of employees engaged in the operation of the Concessions.
Ability to manage inventory in relation to consumer demand.
Ability to maintain accurate records and compile reports.
Ability to train the Concession Workers in the maintenance and operation of the Concessions.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Positive organizational skills.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret acts, regulations, bylaws, agreements, policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the equipment used to provide Concession services.
Working knowledge of current operating systems, spreadsheet, word processing, and database applications.
Knowledge of current related trends, policies, and developments in the Concessions industry.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and co-workers.
Special Conditions: Must be willing to work split shifts, evenings and weekends, as required
May be required to complete all modules of the supervisory course, Management Skills for Front Line Managers, or a course equally acceptable to management.
May be required to complete a Supervisor's Occupational Health and Safety course.
