Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is looking for customer-focused, organized professionals to join our Registration Pool as a Registration Clerk. In this role, you will be one of the first points of contact for patients and families accessing care, playing a vital part in creating a positive and welcoming experience.

Hours of Work

This position involves rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays:
- 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
- 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

What You'll Do

As a Registration Clerk, you will support patient access and registration services across a variety of clinical areas by:
- Welcoming patients and visitors while providing professional, compassionate customer service.
- Collecting and verifying patient demographic, insurance, and health information.
- Creating and maintaining accurate patient registration records.
- Scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments.




- Activating patient visits within hospital information systems.
- Preparing and distributing reports and other registration-related documentation.
- Following established privacy, confidentiality, downtime, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborating with care teams to support efficient patient flow and service delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Medical Administration Diploma (2-year program) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (testing required).
- Keyboarding speed of 35 words per minute with 90% accuracy (testing required).
- Medical Terminology proficiency (testing required).
- Ability to effectively navigate internet-based systems and applications.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proven reliability and attendance record.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
