JOB PURPOSE:As a member of Fix Auto’s production team, the Lead Automotive Technician plays a key role in the delivery of high quality product and superior service.We are looking for an experienced Journeyperson Automotive Technician who wants to become the go-to technical expert in our shop and be an integral part of our shop’s growth.This is not your typical technician position. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety, solving problems, learning new skills, and being involved in different areas of the automotive repair process.2. POSITION SUMMARY:As the Lead Automotive Technician, you will play an important role in supporting our body repair operation and helping us expand our in-house capabilities. Your day-to-day work will include a combination of mechanical repairs, wheel alignments, ADAS calibrations, automotive glass, diagnostics, quality control, and technical support.You will also have the prospect to develop specialized skills and become highly proficient in areas outside of traditional mechanical repair.3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Mechanical & DiagnosticPerform mechanical repairs and maintenanceComplete vehicle inspections and identify mechanical concernsDiagnose drivability and electrical concerns as requiredPerform brake, suspension, steering, and other related repairsComplete pre- and post-repair inspectionsSupport body technicians with mechanical-related aspects of collision repairsAssist with technical problem-solving and difficult repairsWheel AlignmentsPerform four-wheel alignments using alignment equipmentIdentify suspension, steering,



and alignment-related concernsComplete alignment checks following collision repairsMake necessary adjustments and communicate additional repair requirementsADAS CalibrationsPerform static and dynamic ADAS calibrationsSet up calibration equipment and ensure vehicles are positioned correctlyFollow OEM procedures and calibration requirementsVerify calibration results and document completed workAssist with troubleshooting calibration-related issuesContinue developing expertise in emerging vehicle technology and ADAS systemsAutomotive GlassAssist with and perform automotive glass replacementEnsure proper installation procedures are followedEnsure glass-related repairs meet OEM and safety requirementsLead Technician ResponsibilitiesAct as the technical resource and go-to person for the shopMaintain a high standard of workmanship and quality controlHelp train and mentor apprentices and developing techniciansAssist with technical research and OEM repair proceduresHelp identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency and processesEnsure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained properlyStay current with new automotive technology, repair methods, and equipment4.
