**You as a Sr. Specialist, Geospatial and Reality Capture will:****Survey Control and Georeferencing*** Establish, validate, and document survey control for reality capture engagements using GNSS and total station methods.* Own coordinate system and datum management across projects, including transformations between project grids, MTM Zone 10, UTM Zone 17N, and NAD83 (CSRS).* Tie point cloud, photogrammetric, and GIS datasets to project control, and verify registration and georeferencing quality before delivery.* Prepare accuracy statements for delivered datasets, reporting results against independent checkpoints rather than software-internal residuals.**Field Capture Operations*** Plan and execute drone capture, including flight planning, airspace review, ground control placement, and site-specific risk assessment.* Operate terrestrial laser scanning equipment (Leica RTC360 and BLK series) and mobile mapping systems on active construction sites.* Determine the appropriate capture method, density, and accuracy class for each engagement based on the intended use of the data.* Maintain equipment calibration, service records, and field readiness for all geospatial and capture hardware.* Apply and uphold EllisDon health and safety requirements on every site deployment, including capture-day method statements.**Geospatial Data and Deliverables*** Build and maintain geodatabases, layer schemas, and spatial data standards for VDC Services engagements.* Produce GIS deliverables including site and corridor mapping, orthomosaics, topographic surfaces, volumetrics,
and client-facing dashboards.* Deploy field data collection workflows using ArcGIS Field Maps or equivalent for site verification and asset capture.* Develop the BIM to GIS integration path, connecting models and point clouds to geospatial context for project and portfolio use.* Automate repetitive processing, translation, and quality assurance tasks using scripting and data integration tools.**Delivery and Client Support*** Provide effort estimates and technical input to proposals, statements of work, and scope definition for geospatial engagements.* Act as the technical point of contact for geospatial scope on assigned engagements, communicating effectively with both project office staff and field superintendents.* Identify scope variations against the agreed statement of work and escalate change-order conditions to the engagement lead.* Document workflows, standards, and lessons learned so capability is retained by the team rather than held by an individual.* Support the technical development of VDC Specialists in survey control, drone operations, and geospatial fundamentals.**Is this the right role for you?*** Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Geospatial Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
A GIS graduate certificate combined with field survey experience is an acceptable equivalent.* Three to six years of applied field geomatics or survey experience, including construction, infrastructure, utility, or municipal environments.* Demonstrated competence with GNSS RTK and network RTK, total station work, and the establishment and validation of control networks.* Working fluency in coordinate systems, datums, projections, and geoid models, with the ability to explain the effect of a transformation on measurement quality.* Transport Canada RPAS Pilot Certificate for Advanced Operations, with a current flight review and a documented flight log.* Proficiency in photogrammetric processing using Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, DroneDeploy, Propeller, or equivalent, including ground control and checkpoint practice.* Experience operating terrestrial laser scanners and registering point clouds in Leica Cyclone, Register 360, or Autodesk ReCap.* Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, including geodatabase design, spatial analysis, and dashboard or web map publishing. QGIS experience is an acceptable foundation.* Working ability in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including surfaces, alignments, and point cloud to surface workflows.* Ability to produce transparent technical documentation, including accuracy statements and quality assurance reports.* Strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements with minimal supervision.* Valid Ontario G driver's licence and access to an insured vehicle.* The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $102,000.
