An established transportation and logistics organization is seeking a Claims Specialist (Freight Claims & OS&D;) to take ownership of freight claims within a high-volume LTL environment.

This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience managing freight claims from initial notification through resolution, including OS&D; investigations, liability assessment, documentation, and claim settlements.

What You'll Be Doing

Manage the end-to-end freight claims process, including damage, shortage, overage, loss, and other OS&D; matters

Investigate claims by reviewing BOLs, PODs, photos, shipment records, and other supporting documentation

Assess liability and carrier responsibility and coordinate claim resolution with customers, carriers, terminals, and insurance providers

Manage claim documentation, follow‑up, settlements and disputes

Track claims activity, identify trends, and work with Operations to reduce recurring freight issues





Maintain accurate claim records and reporting in accordance with company policies and transportation requirements

What They're Looking For

3+ years of experience in freight claims, cargo claims, OS&D;, transportation operations, or LTL logistics

Direct, hands‑on experience owning freight claims from investigation through resolution

Robust OS&D; experience, including damaged, missing, short, and over freight

Understanding of carrier liability, cargo insurance, claims procedures, and freight documentation

Strong investigative, analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple claims in a fast‑paced, high‑volume transportation environment

Experience with an LTL carrier, transportation company, or 3PL strongly preferred
