Lead procurement strategies as the Assistant Manager, Purchasing for the City, focusing on optimizing processes and managing systems like PeopleSoft and bids & tenders. Directly supervise junior team members for effective procurement delivery.

This strategic role entails reporting to the Purchasing Manager and involves overseeing key procurement functions crucial to city services. You will guide the Buyer 1 team while ensuring compliance with all bidding laws and policies. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to refine procurement processes for the City’s operational success.

Key Responsibilities:
• Guide and evaluate the performance of Buyer 1 staff
• Administer the competitive bid process for various procurements
• Train internal clients on procurement processes




• Ensure users’ needs are met in procurement strategies
• Maintain data integrity and reporting accuracy

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualifications
• Preferred SCMP certification
• At least 5 years in a senior Buyer role in the Public Sector
• Robust understanding of contract law and procurement practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Establish effective procurement operations within the City through strong leadership and strategic management.
