Hiring: Staff / Principal Software Engineer | Java + AI
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3days onsite)
Looking for a Staff/Principal Software Engineer who loves building from 0→1, working through ambiguity, and shipping production systems quickly.
This is a hands-on IC role with robust architectural ownership, working across Java backend, AWS, edge computing, and AI/ML platforms.
What You’ll Work On Design end-to-end signal processing and ingestion flows
Build scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices & APIs
Architect solutions across CDN/edge compute & edge workers
Build data pipelines and platform capabilities supporting ML inference
Design integrations with identity/KYA/trust vendors
Make architecture decisions around AWS, storage, reliability, observability & security




Work closely with Data Science, Product and Engineering teams
10+ years building production distributed systems
Deep Java + Spring Boot expertise
Hands-on AI-assisted development – GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor or similar
Proven 0→1 / greenfield engineering experience
Strong system design and architecture skills
Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Contract: 6 months contract (High possibility of extension upto 1 year)
