JanAero (at CYKF) is a small piston, turbine, light jet aircraft maintenance shop providing services to private and commercial operators, as well as flight schools. We service a variety of different types of aircraft., at our facility and at times off site locations. As such, although we have a regularly set schedule there is an expectation to work some evenings and some weekends on an as-needed basis.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production & Maintenance Supervisor to lead our hangar shop floor operations. This dual-focused role requires a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) who excels at balancing floor leadership, production scheduling, quality compliance, and hands‑on maintenance execution.
The ideal candidate brings a solid background in general aviation piston aircraft, paired with practical avionics experience (troubleshooting, harness routing, or system integration) to bridge the gap between our mechanical and avionics departments.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Floor Management: Oversee daily hangar operations, technician task assignments, job progress, and shop floor workflow to ensure project deadlines and budget targets are met.
Maintenance Execution & Oversight: Perform and supervise maintenance, inspections, repairs,
and modifications on general aviation piston aircraft in accordance with Transport Canada standards and company MPM.
Avionics & Mechanical Integration: Act as a key technical liaison between mechanical and avionics jobs, assisting with wiring considerations, panel fitment, and system troubleshooting.
Quality & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention, tool control, and airworthiness standards.
Resource Allocation: Coordinate shared tooling, hangar space, and cross‑departmental labor utilization to maintain peak shop throughput.
Qualifications & Requirements
Licensing: Valid Transport Canada AME License (Category M1, required; M1/M2 category is a strong asset).
Piston Experience: Demonstrated hands‑on maintenance experience with single and multi‑engine piston aircraft.
Avionics Experience (Not Required, but and Asset): Practical experience with avionics installations, system troubleshooting, harness routing, or avionics/airframe integration.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record in supervisory, team lead, or production coordination roles within an AMO setting.
Organizational Skills: Proficiency in job tracking, work order management, and reading technical schematics/blueprints.
