Med Trans Clerk (4)DescriptionThe Medical Transportation Clerk is responsible for the efficient and effective coordination of the Medical Transportation and the Medical Transportation Policies of the OLHB and terms and conditions of the Medical Transportation Directive of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Health Canada.Responsibilities• Coordinate and dispatch medical taxis including our Handi-van services. • Communicate transportation schedules, destinations, appointment times, and other relevant information to taxi drivers, ensuring clear understanding of trip requirements. • Ensure all medical transportation requests receive the required prior approval for both Medical Taxi and private mileage, except in emergency situations. • Contact and confirm all appointments for patients for both taxi and private mileage. • Contact the medical providers to confirm availability to accommodate the clients. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all appointments in the appointment logbook. • Respond to incoming phone calls to provide assistance regarding medical appointments. • Assist clients that come in regarding medical appointments. • Receive, record and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence and mail as required. • Maintain accurate records of private mileage and ensure sign out logs are completed accurately. • Assists with arranging all meals and accommodation warrants for clients. • Assists with arranging for all out-of-province and traditional healing trips • Filing all travel warrants for All Medical Taxi trips, and Private Mileages.
• Recording all travel warrants in log and making sure all Certificates of Medical Attendance are attached to all warrants. • Verify that all CMA documentation corresponds with transportation trips submitted by drivers. • Performs other duties as assigned from immediate supervisor or administrative staff. • Proficient in speaking and understanding the Cree language is an asset.Qualifications• Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent; Certificate/diploma in office administration preferred. • 1-2 years’ experience of data entry or in an administrative role. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong computer skills; knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Xyntax. • Robust understanding of First Nations Culture, History and Traditions. • Previous experience working in a First Nation is an asset. • Reliable transportation and valid class 5 driver’s license. • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.Contacts**DEADLINE DATE: September 23, 2026** Only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
