Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Kanata, ON, CA, K2V 1C2

Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electronic enclosures for ruggedized hardware applications. This role leads mechanical design activities from concept through production release and works closely with electrical, systems, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to deliver reliable and manufacturable hardware solutions.
This role is based in our Kanata, ON office and participates in a Hybrid work environment.
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:
Lead the design and development of ruggedized electronic enclosures and mechanical packaging assemblies.
Own product development from concept through detailed design, prototype, verification, qualification, and production release
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on assigned programs
Perform mechanical design activities including tolerance analysis, thermal and structural evaluation, and environmental design support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality requirements into the design.
Apply design for manufacturability, design for assembly, and design for test principles to released hardware.
Participate in customer facing design reviews and communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations
Support suppliers and production teams in resolving fabrication, assembly, and nonconformance issues.
Generate 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, interface documents, and bills of material.
Multi-tasking between different projects and delivering on commitments; and
Conceptually link macro-level project plans to micro level tasks
Salary Range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 CAD

What you require to be successful in the role:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
Experience designing electronic enclosures, chassis, housings, or electronics packaging assemblies for hardware applications.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and preparation of engineering drawings and technical documentation, Creo PTC prefered
Strong working knowledge of GD&T; and tolerance analysis.
Experience leading product development from concept through prototype, verification, and production release.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing issue resolution.
Knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, and manufacturing processes used in mechanical assemblies.
Ability to interpret technical requirements, specifications, and design constraints and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
