Serve the public by becoming a Temporary Shunt Driver for the City of Kawartha Lakes in Lindsay, ON. Your main duties will involve transporting and maintaining Public Works vehicles efficiently and safely.
This full time temporary position requires you to move vehicles and equipment for servicing while documenting all operations. You will also be engaged in hands-on tasks such as fueling vehicles and performing minor repairs. With responsibilities in both shop and outdoor environments, adaptability to weather changes is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in transporting Public Works vehicles and equipment
• Operate dump trucks and towing equipment
• Record maintenance and report outcomes electronically
• Execute minor repair tasks and assist with winter maintenance
• Maintain a clean workspace and manage storage
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma necessary
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Valid Ontario Class “A” Driver’s Licence with “Z” endorsement
• Proven ability to conduct vehicle maintenance
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
